I've been a little busy lately, what with my world turning upside down and all. You'll remember that we moved from Arkansas to Nebraska in March for the Sexy Beast's new job. Yeah, we're moving to Iowa for a new new job as soon as we find a house there.
No, take a second to let that soak in, I'll wait.
......
......
It came out of nowhere, we weren't looking for an escape route but one came up and it's a good thing, really. Despite growing up in a much smaller town than this, the whole small town thing is a tad smothering to me now. The new town is actually a "city" with a Target and malls and entertainment and good restaurants and a zoo... Also, when the decrepit old bitch at McDonalds pisses me off there, my husband won't know about the incident before I've even fled the scene. That's a plus, trust me. We're more than happy to leave the Jackass Neighbors behind. And it's an hour and a half closer to home and the rest of our family. The other biggie in the decision making, Aidan's school situation, is looking good. They have great schools in the new city and we know what to say and ask to make the best placement for him. We really couldn't say no.
Since the decision has been made official, however, I've got 2 awesome workout buddies that I'm sick over having to leave and last night we had 4 neighbors - Jackass Daughter included - helping us dig our driveway out of 3 feet of snow drifts. That's just to say things are just starting to become familiar and comfortable here and we're already taking off. And finally the biggest complaint from me about moving again, this house. I love this house. I had so many plans for this house and I've just recently got everything in it's place here. It's sickening to think about leaving it and starting again in yet another house. But I'm aware that we're pretty damn lucky to have these "problems" when so many can't find any employment and are losing their homes. Bring on the inevitable moving hysteria...

Congratz on SB's new job! Sounds exciting and crazy all at the same time!!
What an ordeal! Moving twice in one year...with little ones yet. Shew! Good luck with everything.
I just Love the pic of your little martian on your header.....too cute!!
Congraulations on this new opportunity! I hope your move goes smoothly.
OMG! I was a bit shocked at first. Probably since we also moved from Colorado to Maryland in March. I am also just starting to get settled. I could not imagine moving but you do what you must! Maryland definitely isn't home and probably won't ever be but I think we will stay here a few years and reap the financial benefits of our current situation. My vote for our next move would be San Diego, CA but hubby also wants to move back to Colorado. The job will determine everything!
Best of luck with the craziness! How is your house situation? Will you be able to sell ok? I know the market is crappy and a lot of people are upside down in their homes.
holy shit girl...
sounds like the move will be a good one for you guys, but sounds like the move will be a pain in the ass too. :)
Congrats and ugh.
i'll probably be moving again myself. but locally, and that's still enough to throw me into hysterics.
this is looking good though! esp the school stuff!! hang in there!
sorry i haven't popped in lately. things have been crazy... as usual.
{hugs}
I don't care how great the other job is, moving sucks. But congratulations!
Let me just take a minute to let this soak in....... ummm yeah ...... OMGeeeeeee!!! Cannot believe you guys are moving again!! Do not envy you, but am glad that you will be in an actual "City" and all :) And especially glad that Aidan will have a better school situation! So text a girl and let her know where you will be going!!!
Hey! Cool! Next move should be to Minnesota! If you ever get up here I'll show ya around and show you how to get into even MORE trouble!
Good luck to you, it will be great, you will see.
Dammit--I really enjoyed reading about the Jackass Neighbors. Makes mine seem like angels. I'm glad things are working out good for you all--even if moving is a pain.
Congrats to SB on the great new job offer... WooHoo!!
Boy, moving really sucks! We are planning to build a downsized home and move as soon as we can sell this monstrosity we live in now.
I am so glad that Aidan will have a much better school situation, he deserves it, and so do you!
Hope all goes well, I'll keep my fingers crossed.
That and selling the house, of dear I do not envy moving again so quick. However if the job is better you got to go. I hope this goes much more smoothly for you and yours than the last time.
Good Golly Miss Molly! I would totally kill my husband if I had to move that many times in a year's time! UGH! I have too much crap to move!
Holy crap! How are you ever going to watch season 5 before season 6 starts if you're packing??? Wait, you've probably already finished it! We've only watched the first one as it has been a crazy week.
Good luck on surviving the next few months. And just imagine the house you may find in the "city" and how you'll be able to shop at Target to decorate!
Oooooooooh my moving again!?!?! WOW!!! Yay for leaving Jackass neighborhood but boo on all the bad stuff. :( Yay on the good stuff. We're facing moving sometime next year too. Sooner the better I say...
I pray you have much better luck selling this house then the previous one! Closer to home, check!! Bigger city, where people dont know you have boogers before you do, check!! Keep me informed, mmkay!!
Good luck and congratulations and all that stuff! Yay!
Moving sucks. I hope it goes smoothly and that you find a place you really, really love.
Oh, and I LOVE the fact that it was in the newspaper! That's like the town we live in. But sometimes, it's a good thing. Like today, when the meter guy came to turn off our water for *ahem* non payment, but didn't because he knows my husband. Thank you meter man. Thank you.
