So here are some more stories and pictures from our big trip.
This was the first time the boys got to visit Grandma and Grandpa Heiller's house in Iowa. We spent 4 days there and Aidan had many adventures - fishing in the river, exploring the barn, swimming at the local pool, and playing dominoes with Grandma. He's good!

When we were in Nebraska to visit my Grandma, Kid Sister, Jayden, and Julyan we ran non-stop. Kid Sister has already found tons of stuff to do with the kids. We visited the Children's Museum, which was by far the best children's museum I've ever been to. It was fantastic!

We also went to a nature center. Funny/nasty story about that... Along one of the trails was a huge cage with a bald eagle inside. We were all marveling over this bird when I glance down and there on the ground was the bottom half and separated ears of a white rabbit. Seriously, it was pretty gross. Kid Sister and I picked our jaws up off the ground and quickly herded the kids away and headed to the next stop on the trail. Inside one of the buildings was a blind owl. The employees put him in his cage that was right next to where we were sitting and watching the kids play. I look over and, no kidding, that owl was ripping into a little white mouse! What are the odds we'd be front row for that kind of carnage twice in one day. The kids did see the owl eating the mouse but they were much less impressed than I was.
Aidan was beside himself with excitement for the fireworks on July 4th. Turns out he's not a fan. He's inherited my nervousness regarding loud noises. It is the root of my hatred for rubber balloons - I'm not scared of the balloons per say, it's that they pop loudly and unexpectedly and I can't stand being startled. Anyway, Aidan spent most of the afternoon and evening with his (or my) hands covering his ears.
He was happy to have Jayden, Julyan, and Kid Sister join us and Daddy drove up to meet us there also. Some pictures of the festivities...
Our big outing was the Henry Doorly Zoo. My cousin Lewis joined us and we stayed all day long! It was fun but utterly exhausting.

Great pictures!
You sure know how to cram a lot into one week!
Great pictures! I especially like the one of Patsy and Asher with your Dad smiling in the background. Excellent photo. And the one of your Dad and Aidan fishing on the bank. I think I have one very similar of Grandpa Heiller and my brother, Bill on that same bank. Also, I see the boys playing in a room at the zoo with what appears to be stuffed snakes. That'll come in handy in the serpent handler church if Matt ever gets a job in Appalachia. I've been watching those folks on tv, lately. Wow.
